Critical Role Season Four Unveils the Warriors Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within the urban setting.

Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of heroes who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor (played by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.

That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.

The antagonist then cleared his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each member has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the team reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and The healer defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The target is marked for death by the family.

This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of the traitor.

What’s Next?

From episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Seekers and Planners parties.

Audiences can anticipate finding out which players will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
