19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.
Victory also means Medvedev has won 21 titles at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
The player's counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an better serve.
He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a decider.
The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
