A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

This incident caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
